About us / Cases / Ecoson
Ecoson, a subsidiary of Darling Ingredients, specializes in converting organic waste streams from the food industry into renewable energy. To serve its Belgian customers, Ecoson decided to build a new bio-digestion plant at its site in Denderleeuw, East Flanders.
This new bio-digestion plant uses organic waste as raw material for the production of methane gas, which is then used to generate green electricity and heat. This makes it possible to provide electricity to almost four thousand Belgian households. The remaining waste product is used in the cement industry.
KBS-Systems has implemented various fire safety measures to ensure the safety of Ecoson’s new bio-digestion plant in Denderleeuw. Firstly, we ensured that the installation fully complies with the legal requirements for fire safety, such as the installation of fire-resistant walls and the implementation of compartmentation.
Given the high priority of passive fire compartmentation in these environments, and the essential legal compliance of implementation, Ecoson has chosen KBS-Systems as a partner for this project. At KBS-Systems, we specialize in fire compartmentation and are responsible for implementing the necessary fire safety measures to ensure the safety of personnel and equipment.
